This is a nice service worn size 6 3 4 marked regulation M1895 enlisted forage cap, fitted with an artillery "Crossed Cannons" badge to the front. This was the U. S. Army's first transition to a visor cap after leaving the traditional kepi design. Made of dark blue wool with a black faux leather visor bound with patent leather, the tarred leather chinstrap and side buttons unfortunately absent. The cap retains the
