This is quite rare, and only the second example that we have ever had! Any King William IV flintlock assembly is rare, but this one is for a saddle carbine and features some quite advanced features, such as a slide half cock safety and an "internal" frizzen spring. It also features a "waterproof" pan with gutters on the sides, intended to let water run off the top of the gun and around the closed pan. The Lock plate
