This is a good battlefield pickup condition Italian Model 00 (Model 1900) flare signal pistol dated 1942 with factory original checkered aluminum grips. It bears clear manufacture markings on the left side of the frame: CASTELLI ARMI BRESCIA 1942 MOD. 00 The pistol has some of the original finish, but overall looks to have been improperly stored for quite some time, so there is a lot of surface rust on the exterior.
