This is one rare bird! This rifle started life as an 1891 dated Lee Metford MkII . 303 caliber rifle, then was converted into some type of Lee Enfield configuration, and later to a . 22 Training rifle. It may well have passed through being modified to an 1895 Long Lee Enfield as well. It has many of the characteristics the VERY EARLIEST P 1903 Short Magazine Lee Enfield rifles, but in . 22 caliber for training purposes. It was
