Successor of the famous 509th Composite Group which dropped the two atomic bombs on Japan, the 509th Bomb Group carried out the "Operation Crossroads" atomic test at the Bikini Atoll. The patch has a mushroom cloud at its center. Approximately 5" diameter. Constructed of twill embroidered with silk and cotton threads, with mesh
