From 1939 onward, the standard issue US Army soft cap was the garrison cap. Also known as overseas cap, pisscutter, or sidecap. Although there were variations in the lining styles, the pattern was consistent throughout WW2. This example is an original WWII issue wool garrison cap for wear with the Class A uniform. This garrison cap was issued to an officer as evident by the black gold piping. The left side of the cap
