This support braces and neatly organizes the shifting cable assemblies that jut out of the control plate for the up shift and down shift mechanisms on the DD2 kart engine. This support resembles a steering column collar, but is slightly different in that it is milled to accept the cables for the various paddles of the DD2 engine.
