This is an excellent example of the Swiss Model 1943 Officer's Dagger, complete with the original scabbard and red white portepee. As with other examples we have seen, it is marked on the blade ricasso with serial number 255544, with maker Elsener Schwyz Victoria marked on the other side. Karl Elsener was a Swiss cutler, inventor and entrepreneur. Karl Elsener completed an apprenticeship as a knife maker in Zug.
