During WWII, the Allied Italian Campaign lasted from July 10, 1943 May 8, 1945, with Rome being liberated a few days before the D Day landings in France. This gave USGI's plenty of time to acquire medals from Italian soldiers, which were popular collector's items. We assume this collection was assembled during the liberation and occupation of Italy. Here we have a lovely set of 8 Italian medals from the WWI &
