Matte and gentle in tone. From Peru, strung on elastic cord. Its mineral name, anhydrite, is Greek for "without water" the form calcium sulfate takes when it crystallises dry, the close kin of water bearing gypsum. The colour is an even sky blue to blue grey, faintly mottled with white, matte rather than glassy.
